Be easier to list the similarities, they are both classed as boats and in our instance we use electric motors.
Other than that everything is different, the theory, setup, speeds.

To add further confusion, NAMBA and IMPBA classify cats as both catamarans and hydros. All cats are hydros but not all hydros are cats in the racing arena.

In the IMPBA there are two main hull classifications. Mono Hulls and Hydro's. A Hydro has more than one ride surface and can be a rigger, Sport Hydro, Canard, Tunnel, Cat or a V hull with a step. Did I miss any? LOL
