Boat Slows Down As If It Reached Cell Cutoff Threshold ?

Looking for possible causes as to why my new boat runs great and very fast but only for about 8 seconds then it just slows down the same as if it hit the cutoff threshold. I suspect the ESC however maybe there is something I overlooked.

Everything is brand new including the Turnigy T180. Programmed threshold for 3.2v and even brought it down to 2.6v just to see if there was any change on the outcome, nada. Was initially running Nano tech 3S 6000mah 25c and thought maybe the battery was defective or something so I tried another same battery with the same results.

Just threw in twin 5800mah 2S Nano tech 40-80c and ran on 4S however exactly the same thing is happening. Checked voltage after running a bit even though it was slow mode and still have 3.86v/cell so the cutoff should not be happening. I can unlug the battery and replug and away it goes again at top speed for only 8 seconds. I can do this over and over.

Nothing is more tan warm to the touch including motor, batteries, ESC, wires and connectors.

Is this possibly a faulty ESC or is there something I am not seeing? I do have another T180 I can through in if push comes to shove. Motor is a mini outboard with upgraded Turnigy Typhoon 3450KV and propped on a 32mm x 1.7 cnc. Seems to run great on both 3S and 4S however I sure as heck need to see more than 8 seconds before going into slow mode.

Lvc in these are notorious for being faulty, manually set the cell count

Ok, will try. However it does beep the correct cell count in auto mode.

But make sure you time your runs to like 3 to 4 minutes and check cells volt and temps on everything.

Have been using the HK programming card, no instructions required. Basically the same as offered here. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...-pcard&cat=136

Where do you think this ESC was sold the most? HK is the first place I remember buying them from. The programmers can also be bought on ebay.

Bad news after setting it manually to 4 cells which I assume is 4S? Still no different except now it just goes slow with no burst of speed at the beginning. Will change out the esc tomorrow and try again.

You need to just shut off the low volt,
Set it to number 1 and leave the cell setting to #1 auto calculate.
                              Than just time your runs,
Just for a test run at run it at full throttle for 2 minutes and bring it in and check temps on everything.
Do not go over 5 minutes till you see how many mah the setup is using.
