NAMBA or IMPBA, need some advice

    Post for my husband:

He used to race worlds eco and mono under Naviga rule, but cannot find these races in the States. Now he is considering attending electric hydro SAW race here. We found there are two major organizations: NAMBA and IMPBA. Could anyone give some advice on what is the main difference and which is more popular?

We live in North New Jersey and works in New York City. Do we need to join the district club first, then get selected to Nationals?

IMPBA District 12 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina first weekend in November. A bit close than Michigan if you drive.

If he initial question is for SAW events over heat races then east coast IMPBA has a lot more to choose from. The only NAMBA time trial events lately seem to be at Legg Lake in California. IMPBA has Elizabeth City,North Carolina, Huntsville,Alabama, Portersville Pa and Flint Michigan.

Thank you for all the helpful replies above. Have found some clubs nearby. Will join one club for more practice first to get familiar with the rules and adjust the boat to best condition, then take part in the nationals next year. Thank you

Thank you for the exciting news . Do you know this person's contact information? If the eco is recovered, we may consider attend both the worlds and the USA race. As I know, there are two Chinese professional racers in NJ/New York area who race eco before.
