Predator outrigger Thrust bearing or thrust washer???

Hello everybody, I'm building this Rigger! Its really been fun so far, I ordered my motor and ESC from HOBBYKING
B36-50-06S Brushless Inrunner 5900kv and HobbyKing 120A Boat ESC 4A UBEC

I have a .150 flex cable with a 3/16" prop shaft turned down for 1/8" props, I'm starting with an OCTURA x430 prop and I'm not sure what if any thrust washer is needed. I see the white Teflon washers between the peep fork and the strut on some of the boat pictures here, is this enough or do I need to put a thrust bearing at the motor shaft as well and if so how do I attach said thrust bearing to the front of my motor mount???

Which motor will you be using? I'd use a thrust bearing only on long or XL can motors. It would be installed on the motor shaft before the coupler. So motor into the motor mount --> Thrust bearing onto the motor shaft --> Coupler on to the motor shaft --> Flex cable into the coupler.

The teflon washer goes between the drive dog and strut. Also you dont want the washer's outside diameter larger than the strut or drive dog's outside diameter. Be sure to keep a gap between the dog and strut that is about the same width as the flex cable you're using.

Lose the washer on the shaft, it is not needed when you take the thrust at the motor. A separate thrust bearing at the motor isn't really needed either, the motor bearings take the thrust just fine. I assume this is a 2S rigger? That's a lot of rpm....

I'm a speed freak gearhead hippie I love rpm. But yeah you're right and I need to configure the ESC to limit rpm, I think by % throttle setting.

Also I'm looking at some batteries on ebay. Venom Sport Power 40C 2S 5000mAh 7.4 LiPO Battery ROAR with UNI Plug x2 Packs $120.00 for 2 batteries. I think one of these would do...

got my hardware built and installed, I got tired of waiting for the motor so I made a dummy shaft to align the stuffing tube and it came out good.

Do NOT limit rpm with the throttle, that will overheat the ESC. There is little you can do to safely limit rpm other than change Kv or voltage. 40,000+ rpm is for short speed runs, not for extended running. You can live with that rpm but it can wear things out rather fast and if you go just a LITTLE bit too big in prop size - poof.

I'd get Dinogys before I got Venoms: 2 each 2S/65C/5000mAh for $96. Solder on your own 5.5mm bullet connectors. Better batteries, less money.
