    Bearing lube?

Since I run outboards and they get wet more than I'd like, I use a lot of WD40 and Corrosion X. Using an air hose first and after I wonder if I am driving lube in and out of the bearings. I relube my bearings often. I have been using "Lightning lube" from Boca. Anyone have any secret formula or bearing oils you would recommend?

I imagine boca gives good advice on what to use.

Boca recommends their lube. At $10 for 12cc's. Looking for cheaper alternative that may even be a better lube?

Outboard gear oil Mic, good for shafts and bearings!

I flush motor out twice with metholated spirits and oil bearings with gear oil!

We need to have a chat about our adventure!!

I use Boca oil now, But when I first started in Rc Boats I was using sewing machine oil for my bearings and it works pretty good and cheap.

In my testing, Acer Racing sin lube works better than Boca's. It has less drag.

I use syn. automotive differential lube 75-85 weight. E/T shows NO rpm change.

Gear lubes. hmmm. Back in the day racing full size outboards we often used ATF in our gear cases as it was less drag than gear oils. I think synthetics are a positive. We need an oil that will penetrate seals and stay on the bearings. Moly lubes like STP stick but don't penetrate easily. Any other ideas or discussions welcome.

This is the one I use. It is light enough to weep past the seals in the bearings. Plus it displaces moisture. I also drip it on the thrust bearings & the rudder hinge pins.
There are many equivalent 3 in 1 oils made by oil companies. Your local auto parts store would have some too.

See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

It really is not that thick, penetration is good, lasts for the run, I have so much of it from my garage. I put it in a small eye drop bottle with a long metal "needle".http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?p...4&site=ROCKLER

Synthetic transmission oils we use in motocross. Some guys run the 90wt in both tranny and the crank. May not apply but worth looking into

I like it, because it is plastic compatible, I have cracked plastic parts on my RC cars because of bearing oil. I bought BACHMANN's E-ZLube, plastic safe. But I like this better. Thanks!

I use Sta-Lube's HEAVY DUTY_HYPOID SAE 85W140 Limited-Slip Gear Oil on some of my strut bearings where it is submerged in the water . I lube the flex cable with Grim-Racer Speed Grease and a few drops of this in the strut bearings, especially like TenShock's strut has ball bearings, I feel the grease doesn't penetrate and this heavy gear oil can last at least one run. I lube very often.
How is the Honda stuff? I am interested, can one buy it at a dealer?
                              P.S. I know I am drifting away...but
