Generally on a hydro you run just behind the trailing edge of sponson/turn fin. Mono's at 30% forward of transom. Cats you start at 30% but can easily hit as high as 40% as speed increases.
Hydros can benefit from lifter props to get the transom out of the water if the CG is too far back. But this is all a balancing act.
Thanx for the reply, the Hydro in question is a 43" 1325 Dumas kit that has been modified from Newton Marine plans and I'm using a dual rudder setup so rear lift shouldn't be a problem. I'm in the process of rigging it now, I'm going Electric with it 5698 910kv Leopard, Swordfish 240HV pro2 ESC on 10s it should scoot pretty good!
