    Kyosho Hydrojet GP

Hi, just picked one from a friend.

The box is opened but I did not find anything missing so far(no engine, but I believe it was option part anyway)

so basically it is new in box.

How old do you think this is? -late 90´s maybe?

Now I have never build a hydro and dont like the K***** brand but would like to build it using mild brushless motor.

Would anybody know anything about these, it is abs hull and quite thin but maybe some carbon reinforcement and like I wrote mild motor then this could be fun little boat.

I do have one kyosho marine engine somewhere but it never ran well... -maybe if this will be build as shelf queen then maybe nitro but for driving electric.

Any thoughts is this worth putting together and maybe upgrade the driveline a bit?

    are these worth anything?

    Thanks 4 looking,

I built a bare GP version into an electric with 12 cells and a 700 about 10 years ago. I think I originally picked it up in 1996. I really liked the looks of the hull. It went quite well, and would be really good with a P Spec style system.

Only mods I made was to add flat plates to the bottom of the sponsons to increase the angle of attack a bit and a flex drive. Only reinforcement I used was some ply strips to tie the deck and hull together at the hatch opening. It was quite stiff after that, and didn't really need anyting else.

I'm not sure I have any photos, I could have a look around.

      Thanks for the reply Scott.

I was also thinking of getting proper strut and flexdrive.

Thinking of mounting the strut to transom so I will add some ply or carbon there.

The stock shaft goes kind of submerged, it exits about center of the hull and quite a steep angle . -so I guess the transom mounted strut would work better?

I have never even seen hydro b4 but maybe I can still make this work lol.

It was free so 30 buxx to flex/strut etc is not too bad, I have 2-7s 200a esc and ~1500kv 36mm motor that are leftovers from earlier builds allready.

And pics would help if you can find any, I´ll get few of this tomorrow.
