Anybody ever done a twin "p spec" rigger?

I have a couple of Geico motors and escs, I love twin nitro riggers, anybody ever done a twin electric?
Been looking at the JAE FE plans and the idea has been twitching again.
Any feedback is good, would require some reworking of the plans, thinking twin skiis on the bottom, hull half again wider and add some width to the sponsons. Maybe add a little length to the hull?
    Bad idea? Any better ideas?
Was originally going to do a twin cat but have decided I'm just not a cat fan prefer monos and hydros.
Already have some of the hardware, would have to buy some struts as opposed to the stingers I have on hand, have a pair of flexes, rudder etc...
Wood is sitting there waiting for something to build.....
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

would be cool, I have just finished a twin P rigger, it's an SG so it's wood and pretty heavy, I had a couple of 1415/1y's and pair of custom 1421/2200kv motors made for it. I haven't run it yet. Make sure you make it light. just so you know I don't believe twins are allowed in P-spec racing, so if you're building it for racing I wouldn't waste your time.

I built a twin JAE for Kevin Sheren. Don Ferette is running it in D12. I've never seen it run but the reports were that it's pretty cool. I'll try to post some pics if your interested in seeing it.

Love to see some pics to get the ideas rolling, wouldn't be for racing, just an interesting project. Don't race anymore, only one race a year even remotely close to me in Canada, just a bunch of buddies doing the run what you brought deal,
Today I was running my P mono doing some testing, there was a JAE, a Kneeler, Blackjack 29, Stiletto, Sv27, Spartan and a couple UL-1s running.
        Thanks for the replies.

To me the motor selection is wrong if you plan on 4S. Those low Kv motors will limit speed, especially if you want to run same-direction props as most nitro twins do. Higher Kv motors work better in riggers anyway. But the use of 5S or 6S with the Geoco motors would work.

I was thinking the same thing, was looking at at HK leopard clone 3665s at about 30$ a pop 2100kv 4 pole after I got home from the pond.
Was kind of planning on trying counter rotating, simply because I have the flexes on hand from an abandoned project, sold the hull...
Want it fast of course but not worried about ballistic, really just want to try something different for my own amusement. Plus it will look mean just sitting there!

Very cool! Almost exactly what I thought it would be, answers my question about making it stiff enough not to twist.
                    Thank you very much!

                        You're welcome.
Ray when the boat left here it was set up with the Aquacraft motors and ESCs. I'm pretty sure he's still running the same equipment.

If you are just messing around I wonder what would happen if you just made it with 2 seperate hulls side by side with a small space in between ??
Kind of like the airplane with the twin fuselage

Just put two kits together side by side and leave out the middle (or not ??) sponson

In the 'downloads' section on this site there are 3 pages of plans for a twin JAE 45 rigger, that can be altered & scaled to suit what ever size you want. Just scroll down. There are other rigger plans there too.

Probably not relevant here, but just some "food for thought" (notice twin hulls at vid's end) :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ETkFEqkefc
