    Frog tape for hatches ?

    Hello everybody :-) ,

Has anyone tried using frog tape as a substitute for hatch tape ?. I use the clear hatch tape from Kintec w/o issue. However I know others that swear by electrical tape, but I don't understand why, being a mechanic I find that e-tape doesn't stick to wet surfaces worth a hoot. A painter friend was watching a hatch being taped up, and thought that frog tape may work well here.

I use blue painters tape on my lexan R/C bodies while painting, but i've never used frog tape. I thought I would throw it out here for ya'll to kick around :-P .

It's green so that's out for me. It's expensive. 3m blue painters tape is over 6 bucks and frog brand is even more. I know it's supposed to give clean lines with painting but question it's tackiness with water. 10 bucks isn't a terribly expensive experiment. Try it and see if you like it.

Frog tape works great for painting on smooth surfaces.
It's very similar to green striping painters tape.
1 thing about it though is be careful I had a bad roll been on the shelf to long.
      Lost all of the tackiness.

As for using it on a hatch if say not.
It's not meant to be tacky it's meant to be removable.
Stuck with clear hockey tape can't beat it!

Yeah, like I said. I have never tried frog tape. All I,ever use painters tape for, us painting lexan bodies. Theres no sense spending $10 to do it. I threw it kht here because a friend had the idea. I like the clear hatch tape myself. I can pull my hatch open, to check voltage & temps, then stick the tape back down, even on a wet hull.

I keep all my masking tape in a sealed ziplock bag, it does prolong shelf life as the asheresive doesn't dry out as quickly.
