    TP 4050 4040 timing?

I bought a pair of Tp motors last year direct from TP
4050 1450kv to run on 6s and TP 4040 2200kv to run 4s, I asked TP what timing they suggest, both times I asked I was told to set the timing at zero?
as both motors are y winds I thought that this i a bit strange as most people set y wind motors at 10 degress
I set them at 4 degress all ok but a little slow would 10 degress be better.

Kind of weird. If it is a "Y" wind it will not be too happy on such low timing.
I will ask our engineer tonight and get back to you.

Generally you need to use low timing to achieve high efficiency of our motors regardless of D or Y wind. We recommend to set timing as 0-10 degree. You may use up to 15 degree timing for more power at expense of efficiency, but you need to check the actual temperature in this case. You may need to add extra cooling for maximum power operation.
