I've been into rc boat since I was 6 or 7. My uncle use to build boats planes and everything in hobby building. He died and I didn't have anyone into building Rc stuff around. Growing up in the Bronx was not the best place for rc boats. We had a rc air plane field but that was about it. Then I didn't have the $. I moved to S. Florida 20 years ago and tried to get involved in the boat seen here. I was treated badly because I was not up to date and having a heavy accent didn't help. So I just started building my own stuff. Looking back now. Some really bad stuff. Then I got a ProBoat Black Jack 26 nitro. Converted it to electric, then back to nitro. I got my hands on a Mean Machine did 20 different set ups on that. Then PB Shockwave 36 nitro, electric 26 Shockwave, 24 Apache both converted brushless. I could keep going but don't have the time. I got a Super Vee 27 and have been hooked on that boat for sometime now. I built a fiberglass 25" Deep Vee with SV esc and motor. It is like a short Revolt.
Anyway to get back on topic and answer your question. Yes I would get into racing with a club if it wasn't so secretive and the attitude as it was when first started. I don't see anyone running rc boats any more here in Davie Fl. I know they use to have races here in Markham Park. Now I just build them until I blow them up. Then rebuild. I do RC cars, trucks and boats so I'm always trying to build something. This site has been a great source of info and would like to thank you all.
