Couple pics might help us have a better idea what exactly your talking about but might need to put some larger tubing over it and epoxy it

      stinger

.100" seems like alot of space to make up. I have to buy all those sizes of brass tubing to make it fit? no camera, but you understand the problem. thanks

The stingers are not designed to have the stuffing tube plug in tight like on a strut.

          stinger

how much play do you want? and how far out of the stinger ( towards the boat) do you want the step down tubing?

One with and without a brass line the Teflon.needs a liner over it but the Teflon extends onto the stinger

                  stinger

my unit is the unit sold by kintec. its the 3/16" stinger just above the 1/4 " stinger listed online. doesnt the end of the brass tube have to held rigid to avoid shaft whip? if not, where do you buy silicone tubing to fit over 1/4 " brass tube and end up with .350 " od to fit snug in the end of the stinger?

That's where the epoxy or fg resin comes in handy you have to set the stinger while the.flex is in place but after that you are more or less using the grease to do the sealing of the water most of my boats stuffing tube are held in by some.sort of 2 part

if you need a better disassembled pic ill do one tomorrow but as long as you tube weither it has a liner or not if the.hull is sealed the grease does the rest a little hard to grasp at first but it works hopefully someone else (jesse) or someone will chime in

This subject has been disgust a number of times re sealing the gap between the stinger barrel & transom, with the gap open water is picked up & goes up into the boat via the stuffing tube. To seal you can use o rings which I believe Kintec sell or use to sell for this very purpose, I prefer to make my own out of 6mm id silicon exhaust tube, it dosnt go into the stinger barrel hole but mearly squashed between the transom & the barrel. It cant come out as its slide over the short piece of stuffing tube that comes out of the transom.

The reason why nothing is fixed more rigid on the stingers is because of the extra adjustment for positive & negative angles over a strut with a tight fitting stuffing tube which has limited positive & negative adjustment. The stingers work fine with no problems re flex whip.

thanks for all your help guys. I am trying this stinger on an outrigger with a plane box like a jae rigger uses. sealing is not an issue but was concerned about what to do with end of shaft tube. will try shimming brass shaft tube to stinger bore. I like the accurate adjustments by turning the turnbuckle on the stinger.
