6s apparition cat running really slow

    Posting for a mate,

He has a Hobby-king Apparition single drive cat with a 180A Turnigy ESC, leopard 1600kV motor, not sure on the prop but it looks similar to my X642 (boat is second hand so not sure). It is running brand new 2 x 3S Genace 25C constant draw packs in series (6s), all connections ar 5.5mm bullets. Have the strut up nice high at a neutral angle. At best this boat can get to the speed of a fast jogging pace. Motor feels free to turn similar to my MG 29 BL V2)

What could be causing this? We have tried various battery packs, connections are all good, motor is free to turn. How can we diagnose stuffed ESC or motor?

I would have thought with a set up like above it should be running rings around my 4s MG

    Cheers,

    BJ

Been awhile since I ran one of those but from memory when hull is sitting flat on a table strut should be touching or just up a fraction from touching the table.

      Re-calibrate the throttle.

This is a common problem on T180a & also the Seaking 180a esc (same esc), they have oversensitive lvc & cut in to early. They will even run slow from the start of the run, try lowering the lvc voltage. Some that have this problem with these esc turn off the lvc all together & time their runs.

Ended up being the throttle out of cal. Just took it down the lake (10pm here) five it a squirt and the whole boat jumped out the water. Promptly brought it in as neither of us are keen on swimming this late at night. Thanks for the replies
