I would add that it also depends on the size of your pick up, it is pointless to have a big hose with a tiny fitting on the top of a rudder. Not all pick up is of the same size on rudders. Some VERY experienced members fit a larger than stock nipples on their rudders to have better volume flow. Also it is not advisable to run different sized tubing on the same set up.
