    110mm Stinger Setup Help

I might be building a 37" FC Daytona for a friend. I'm looking up everything for the various setups. The problem I am running into is the stinger drive assemblies. I would like to use the 110mm stingers for 3/16" shafts. These are carried by FighterCat, HORRacing, and a few others. I would prefer to use .150" flex cables with them. How do you attach the flex to the included shaft?

I do not actually have these. I am just doing a little research.

There are a couple of 110 drives available. Which ones in particular?

The shafts that come with the FCR 110mm stingers use a flex with a square end. It's easier to just pull that shaft out and use a one piece flex with a 3/16'' prop shaft.

      This will work. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...oct-oc150L-24c

That was the confirmation I needed. Are the threads on the CW and CCW rotation shafts the same?

            Thanks

I just noticed that Kintec carries the 3/16" square drives.

Just curious why you want to go with .150 cable on a 37 inch boat. What are you planning on power for her?

I wouldn't mess with the square drive, just use a one piece. Easier maintenance.

It would be a twin setup using 3674 1900kv motors.

I've already seen a couple of .150 cables fail this year. And I've seen .150 collets fail over the years also. The only thing I run a .150 flex on is a JAE outrigger with a UL1 motor. IMHO. If you are just looking for a little less drag , the advantage over the 3/16 cable is negligible. Yet the advantage of strength and durability of the 3/16 over the .150 outweighs any performance advantage ten fold. Especially if you upgrade the motors some day.

I agree with Chilli. Even though I have ran .150 in a 37'' cat without issues, why not use .187 flex. All my builds I do now in that size range use 1/4'' brass and 3/16'' shafts (no teflon).
