Welcome to the forum. The genesis is a great boat for beginners and with a few simple mods can be made to run well. Here's my genesis.

Addictive it is. After a couple year break I brought a proboat blackjack 29 to play with. With in 2 weeks I had a genesis and now am building a 37" twin cat.
Even thinking about another genesis for s.a.w runs. OOhh it never stops lolComment

Yes it is!! It's been a little rainy here so I too started a new build!! Good luck and one helpful hint at keeping the relations unaware of new boats,, keep them all white, my wife took two years to realize the little boat had morphed several times into something else. Lol!!Comment

Cooper. You sneaky little devil.
But yes. Addictive it is. I've just received a package from ML Boatworks. Another Hydro to build. Love it.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Well the test wet went great last night. Running on 4s with my x440 temps were in check and it handled great. Today I get to take it out to the big pond
Heres a short video, dont mind the macro pond. lol i put it in there so if i had an issue it would be easier to get. Hitting about 3/4 throttle I didn't have room to air her out.

That little pond with barriers in the way remind me of a ken block gymcana but on water lol.
I really like the genesis hull. Bang for buck is awesome.Comment

It really is. I'm very happy with the quality of it, I was leary of getting it at first... I'm sure you remember the multiple posts lol. But I love it. I think getting a catamaran was the right choice. The big pond I run on has the same amount of chop as the test pond in the video.
I will say one huge disappointment was no latch for the hatch. One little detail I obviously looked over and when I opened it up i was like WTF!!!!!Comment

Fun when you first start out checking out/buying all the different boats out there.
Now I'm thinning the fleet, decided what I like to run, now working on having just a few "top of the line" boats.I like my mono hulls and hydros!
On the block next will be my SV and Motley Crew, VS-1 will probably be going as well.If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

The 1 boat I regret selling when I got out of boats a few years back is my VS1.
Probably my slowest boat but so nice to run and very scale looking.Comment

Ya but only one other 4s tunnel to play against, mine ran great right from the beach with a UL-1 can.
Everybody around here is all over the map in terms of cell count, motor choice etc. There are some UL-1's and a few Revolts to run "spec" boats against.
Was going to put a 1515 1y in my new Whiplash, now changed my mind back to a UL-1 motor just so there are more boats in the same class.
I have a half built JAE that I probably won't finish, same story none of the other riggers run the same power as each other....
All good, just a bunch of guys having fun.If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

Started out with two of us running electric 3 years ago, well I was still into nitro boats at that point. Now there are about 8 or so of us running electric.
I used to race the nitro stuff, still like to run against somebody else. Then again I've also had informal bulldozer and backhoe races on the job site. If it has a motor or engine I want to race it! LOL
I don't do the club thing for flying though, rather do that on my own. Around here if you don't play with what the OLD (dinosaur) guys think you should you're an outsider. Pretty sure they think satan lives inside a lipo and 2.4Ghz is a commie plot!If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment
