anyone still using the FC esc,s

I was wondering if anyone is still using the fc esc,s. I have one that I bought a while back for a rigger build. I have read a lot of bad experiences with them. Boats and cars both!. Are any of them still out there and working. I'm wondering if I should even bother trying it. I have put a lot of work into the boat and really don't want it smelling like smoke after one run.

From the fighter cat web site

Service Bulletin- All 8s/300 & 16s/300-400 ESC Water Cooling Friday, 13 July 2012

Service Bulletin- All 8s/300 & 16s/300-400 ESC Water Cooling

        FighterCat's FE Resource Articles

This bulletin applies to the large lower cooling block on some 8s/300 and 16s/300 model ESCs.

Note* this is intended for those using high speeds and high pressure water flow, we have not encountered any problems with lower pressure systems.

It's come to our attention that some large lower water blocks have seeped along the seam under pressure. They can develop a rip along the seam and seep water into the ESC.

Each water block is pressure checked prior to installation, however in some cases, we've encountered leaks on higher pressure systems.

It is recommended to choke or split the water flow prior to reaching the ESC and pressure check your water system prior to use.

If you notice any signs of this, discontinue use immediately and bypass the water block in question. Replacement water blocks are available in most cases. Contact us for more information.

Ya that would def not help. I have also read on some car sights that guys have smoked em right on start up first time out. I believe the versions for cars boats and air are all the same with different cooling. Didn't like the sounds of smoking em in the first few seconds.

I've been using two of the 6S 300 amp units. One on a Q SAW boat and the other on a full P-Hydro. No problems so far.

My esc is going in a 45 rigger with a cc1717 on 6s. Im glad to hear there are some good ones. I guess its like a lot of things on the net. You only hear the bad stories.

Remember to program it first, a lot of the problems were traced to people just pulling the trigger without programing them.

Yes I got a box and programed it before bench testing it. It worked perfect on the bench and hopefully will continue to do.I now need an esc for my kneeler since my Sf200a isn't working. If the FC turns out to be reliable I may stick with them. Lots of versions available.

Treat it with Corrosion X and keep it dry.
