    Cooling lines on Revolt 30

I've seen discussions on the board that the water cooling lines should go thru the ESC first then the motor .Looking at the schematics of the Revolt 30 it looks like the line goes thru the motor first then the ESC and out. If I were to buy the Revolt should I reconfigure the cooling lines.

If you plan to run stock set up you do not need to do any with the cooling.
The system stays cool out of the box, no worries about temps....

True, but most run the line thru the esc first then into the motor, also the line going into the motor should enter the bottom and exit at the top and then out.

On spec motor set-ups like the Revolt, the motor is the weak link.
The priority then is to cool the motor fiirst, then the ESC second.

who started this advanced cooling practice many years ago. I remember asking him
about this cooling arrangement after buying one of his Raptor riggers about 5 years ago.
He explained the rational that has worked well for many years.....Thanks Brian.

I am sorry but I disagree with you

Water cooling system it should go through the esc first because it won't heat up the water enough to make a difference on the cooling on the motor. But if you run it through the motor first it will heat the water and then the water will heat the esc

Depends on what is hottest. In my revolt the motor is hotter than the esc, so I cool the motor 1st. Pretty basic, just use your temp gun after a run.

Thanks Ken for posting this. Whether it is ESC first or motor first, I appreciate these insightful stories. I always learn from these side notes that it doesn't matter even if they don't apply directly to my situation.

Easy to solve this with dual cooling. 1 for esc 1 for motor.

Great thought Jeff...............I'll make a run or two and check temps.

I think many would agree. Don't overly mod out these little stock boats. By the time you start putting a new esc motor, hardware bigger batteries etc... You most likely would have been better off with some derivative of a build. I started with revolt and a spartan. I put 600 bucks in the revolt to get it to 55. One flip and destroyed it all and lost a 200 dollar battery.

What are ideal temps for the motor and stock ESC on the Revolt ?

38 degrees fareheit. you did say ideal.
