    Traxxas Blast

I have a traxxas blast that the motor will not quit running in. It was fine yesterday but this morning I went to plug in the battery and the motor started running and now it won't shut off when plugged in. I wasn't using the power switch to power it down as I know this can fail. I just left the power switch turned to the on position. I have a Spektrum DX2e radio with mr200 receiver. I replaced the motor with one from axial racing last summer.

My assumption is that the ESC went bad and I need to replace that. I checked my receiver box and it has no water whatsoever in it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Sounds like the ESC failed

The throttle channel trim on the tx might not be at the same setting as it was when tx/rx were setup with the Blast.
Usually when the esc dies it does just that. Either it melts, catches fire, or doesn't have any power on the motor wires.
The fact that the motor is running when he powers up the esc indicates that the fet's are providing current to the motor .........
thus I would check my settings on the transmitter and/or try to rebind the tx/rx before I would assume that it was dead.

I unplugged the motor and then plugged the battery in and the tx/rx connection seems to be fine. The light on the esc gets brighter with more throttle and goes off when I let go of the trigger. I've had this tx/rx since last summer and no problems till now. It just seems as though the esc isn't cutting off power to the motor when off throttle. The light goes out but motor still turns... I can turn the steering and throttle trim adjustments on the Transmitter and it does just what expected... adjusts the steering and the light throttle light comes on.
