Rudder length for a 29inch mono?

Hi friends

What is the ideal rudder length for a 29inch mono? How much of rudder length should be below the keel?

I am using the below speedmaster long rudder in my Hydromarine mono and it definitely seems too long.......

Id say around 2 inches can be chopped off,make sure to file the leading bottom edge to a slight round, and possibly sharpen the rudder.Be careful to not interfere with the water inlet/pickup as well.Effects can be negative if you take too much off too be careful

Take off a bit at at time, start with 20mm and then 10mm and so on. It's easy to cut off but not to lengthen! Bear in mind that when you turn left there is less rudder in the water. And what driftah said.

I would probly take off like an inch to an inch and half

I'm using a Speedmaster mini on my 29" DF clone. Handles great, no problems at all with full speed turns @ about a 35' radius.
Pretty sure it's a 4" blade, would have to check the specs.

Thanks for the input i've taken 1 inch for now. Lets see the result when it gets warmer in Sydney Australia :)

Now i still need to add some weight to the side as it is a self righting hull.
