Hey guys, I am thinking of building a delta force 41. I want this to be a solid hull with flood chamber. I will be reinforcing. My questions are, motor size, hardware, and any input as I don't have much experience with these hull like I do cats. This is going to be a wave jumping ruff water play boat. (For conditions that are not favorable for the cats and saw boats). I have several 1600kv 4080 tp motors, a castle 240ice esc, no hardware. I was thinking a fast setup would be 6s but I don't know if that motor would be too small for this hull. I also have a couple 56-xx 1200kv motors also. Single drive system, if I went with the 56 size motor would 3/16 drive be ok or should I be using 1/4"? Have more questions but ill start with these. Thanks for the suggestions guys, look forward to a quick build so I can start having fun when conditions are bad, as lately its been ruff and windy a lot.

I've never built one that size but the only advice is dont skimp on the drive size. When the boat exits the water and re-enters it puts a lot of strain on it. Wave jumping is a lot of fun though. If all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed! -
That's what I'm trying to figure out, what motor to build around. I do have to say I'm leaning towards the 56er, my friend has a vanquish, (similar size to df41) and the 56 doesn't look too big in there. And I'm planing on reinforcing the whole hull and installing a flood chamber. My thoughts are in the additional weight in reinforcing, flood chamber, ect that the 56 isn't going to be too awful of overkill. Plus I've had two of these motors for over a year now and have been trying to find a home for them, or at least one of them :).Comment

Well I'm thinking about using the 56 1200kv motor I have. 1/4 drive line. Taking into consideration the in and out of water prop and stresses that will be going with wave jumping, I'm thinking around 35,000 rpm and staying with a relative small prop, say a 450 three blade. (I think that will be small for this setup,? ). Plus maybe the three blade will lessen tork roll. This doesn't have to be a fast boat, I'm thinking under 60mph. So anybody with delta force experience I'm open to suggestions. I would like to know where this hull likes to be in terms of cg and if any hull work is needed to be done, any hooks or making a small ride pad? ThanksComment

1717 is ok, i saw one run this past weekend. the owner ran a 5698 910kv motor on 10s2p with an x465 prop and said the setup was amazing. a 5692 1090 would also be happy. Guys run 3080 lehners in the df45 with real big escs. These boats can pull a wild amount of amperage as they just stay planted and you NEVER have to let off the gas. After seeing one run I'm already planning one for my next build lol. Motor will likely be a TP-5850 not sure of the kv though.
Looking forward to seeing this thing runComment

The 56 motor I have is 1200kv, I was thinking of using the ice240 esc, I also have one of those laying around. I was thinking of around a 6s setup. That should give me around 30,000 rpm. If need to I can up to 7s or 8s pulling max 40,000 unloaded rpm. So far that is what I like to hear, handles well in chop and power hungry hull!! I'm looking forward to getting this built, it is a summer build so it should be quick. Have hardware ordered and boat should be here Monday.Comment

I'll sell you my 5692 1200 kv cheap. It survived the SF240 explosion at MI Cup. I just cleaned it out with 99% alc. and some corrosion block. I'm done with 6S... I must have over propped so I was told by Chis K. and my buddy Bill.Nortavlag Bulc
