    Hi
I am glad you are able to run 6s on the stock ESC but I can find many examples of the stock ESC burning up on 6s so it is hard to consider it a reliable setup.

I'll start a poll thread later so we can collect more data. The other factor is what is the lifespan of the ESC at those amps.

I am very frustrated . The rep said send it in he assured me that the boat could handle them . I will never run with the set up again . Gone again for another 14 days . What a kick in the pants . I told the rep about the article his words you should have had no problems ! Than you to everyone who gave input . As the old saying goes no replacement for displacement!

          Hi Scoop,
If you read the spec sheet on the boat it does say it can support 3S (so your LHS is not lying to you), but what they don't tell you is the lifespan/reliability difference on the boat between 4S and 6S, and the other factors like runtime and prop size constraints.

If you run 6S for 2minutes on a smaller prop on stock setup, sure it can work. Want to run for 5min on a larger prop, then the ESC-Motor connectors are likely to de-solder. Increased resistance through those degrading connectors spikes the AMPs on the ESC... and things go down hill from there.

BTW, it is a good idea to upgrade connectors on any RTR boat (my son runs the miss G on 4S with x642, still with upgraded connectors), that will buy you headroom to change other stuff out later if you want.

I ordered the prop today . The connectors when the boat is returned.

Scoop, I too came from a nitro background and as a recent BJ29 owner I went through all the same frustrations you're going through. I only runs 6S and put on 5.5mm bullets all around before it hit the water. After 5 runs the motor wires were crispy and the motor and ESC were fried, which Horizon replaced without question. Great customer service there.

Hydro_pyro is right. It will handle 6S as long as you do the 5.5mm connectors, get your strut angle right and dont be tempted to throw a bigger prop on it. Also keep it wide open throttle all the time to keep the ESC temps down. No dilly dally half throttle and wheelies. Keep your runs short 2-3 minutes. 6-8 minute runs WILL fry the stock BJ29 on 6S.

I run mine on 6s but I put the pb 1500kv motor in it. Max amps with a 642 is 105 amps. Every thing is still only just warm after a 4 minute run.

I did not try 6s with the stock motor so cannot compare. Proboat did not supply motor I already had batteries for 6s setup so was cheaper for me to buy 1500kv motor than to buy new packs.
