    Help with tunnel build please

Hi all just got the tunnel back from getting graphics . Motor is TP Power 4092 1800kv with SF220 pro+, issue with space but. Not sure if you can see from pics but speedy is almost touching the motor to allow room for battery and the wires from speedy to motor are to loooong. Am I able to cut the speedy and or motor wires to shorten them or am i better just leaving how they are and zip tie or something to tidy them up?

Won't be cutting motor/esc will make it fit. Maybe just battery wires. Thanks for advice

Shorten your motor wire and your esc wires if you like. I would shorten your motor first though.

Some motors you can shorten the wires others you can't.
Depends if the wires are part of the winding or soldered on inside the can.
If you cut the motor wires and they are part of the winding you may not be able to solder connectors on.

I think I can get around not cutting them will just have alot of wire bunched up. What about battery wires can they be shortened?

Battery and esc wires can be shortened no problem. Some motors like Castle have regular wire soldered to the magnet wire inside the motor, these can be shortened.
The wire the motor is wound with has a high temp lacquer type insulation on it that makes soldering almost impossible.

18.5v. Thought I read somewhere about not cutting the motor wires. Will have a better look tomorrow on wether I cut any wires.

Do not cut the motor wires!!! Many motors have wires that are coated in a varnish type material (every strand) and the solder for the connectors won't stick. You would hae to scrape off the coating from every wire strand. You can cut the ESC wires as short as possible no problem (shorter the better). I had a setup that was frying my caps and Fluid advised me to cut down the ESC-to-Lipo leads to reduce ripple current and it worked great.

Like husky said, castle motors you can cut because the wires are like your battery wire, other motors like leopard have a different wire that is damn near impossible to solder. Not sure what the tp motor wires are like, but if they're like castles you can cut them.
I always cut esc wires first... I know they're easily solderable

Was good to pick your brain today Andrew thanks for all the help. Thinking of 6s now for the tunnel after seeing your boats go. Only thing we wanted to keep 5s so we can change between zonda and tunnel
