    Cinnabuns first fe discussion

Ok guys.. So I'm not clogging up the other mans thread, ill start my own.

I'm ready to order an fe. I love the look of the cat and want something I can hit 40-50 without breaking a sweat.

I'm looking at the genesis, or a revolt 30.

    Discuss.

Think I must have missed something, the revolt 30 is a mono, not a cat.

For a cat I nominate the Miss Geico or Blackjack. One thing to note bout the MG, rudder is right behind the prop, lotta people don't like that, they buy the kit to move it off to the right side (facing rear of boat)... http://kintecracing.com/Pro_Boat.html - third item down. The BJ comes with the offset rudder setup from the factory.

They're straight forward, decent quality and parts & upgrades are easy to come buy. Take a look in the OSE store and / or Kintec Racing, lots of upgrade parts available for both.

For a mono, Impulse or Revolt 30 - both for the same reason's as above.

That's my opinion for what it's worth...

Just got a genesis myself the semi rtr. Changed the motor (neu 1515 1y 2200kv) and put in a 1 piece flex shaft. Swordfish 200a esc.
Just running a 442 prop and its in the low 50s. Every thing is cool after a 4 min run.
Great boat for the $$$ very stable and looks real nice.
For what it is worth i have a blackjack 29 and would take the genesis over it. The genesis does need a few (but easy) mods. BJ29 does as well to run well.

Yeh pepper, if I get a cat it'll be a genesis. If I get a v, it'll be the revolt. Right now I'm leaning towards cat, simply because they look awesome. I've never driven a fe, my fastest boat is a villain ex. So I honestly can't say which I'd rather have more except based on looks.

Ozzie, can you link me to the one piece flex? Would a 442 be too much prop for the stock motor on a 125 or 180 amp esc running 4s? I see alot of people mention that the x440 runs good, but I'm not sure if they're using a 2 or 3 blade. Can you comment on that

Here's a Revolt for you to check out... http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...Revolt-30FE-FS

Upgraded electronics, spare props and a pair of batts to go.

          Food for thought...

IMO, that revolt is priced a little high. I'm not fond of used batteries, or used stuff unless its cheap for that matter. An rx ready revolt can be had for 175 shipped from towerhobbies.

The genesis is going to be it I think. Does anyone have a picture of it next to a 30" boat? Or next to a 1/5th baja? I'm looking for some sort of size comparison..

Ditto, but when you live on a fixed; sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and say WTF & hope you didn't step in poo.

They've doing that off & on all year, 2-days ago the Rx ready's were $269

Wow it's pretty narrow. Does that make it unstable?

I dont race oval but found it turns ok. It is very very stable in straight line but i did offset my rudder.

The stock motor i got was crap. Gave it to a mate for his sons boat and it is terrible. Kv said 2,000 but kv checker puts it around 1450kv.

                      Well it's done.

I ordered the genesis and the turnigy 180a marine ESC.

Should be here the end of next week.
