    mean machine offset rudder?

the recomended rudder and strut is the Speedmaster 21 strut, round bottom-hydro design
    Ose-80050 Rudder.
would this hull perm better/or as good with a offset rudder and strut like this

Look for my build thread. I believe that is the dame hardware I used. Haven't got mine wet yet but it appears to be a good fit .

I would not want to start with a shorter rudder. When I first built the MeanMachine I used the "mini" SpeedMaster rudder (100mm long) and the boot hooked terribly. That was cured with a longer rudder (150mm).

That would be a place to start, giving speeds in the low/mid 40s. A lot depends on what you want from the model as far as speed and run time. That hull can handle props up to at least 45mm, so you could prop up for more speed with the 1400 Kv motor, or pick a lower Kv (1200) and get good speed with longer run times. A longer motor will handle heat better and swing a larger prop.

Mine came with a 90mm rudder and handled poorly, i switched it for the same 130mm rudder you linked to and it handles very nicely now,it seems well suited to the hull.
