    gday fellas'
    being new to this electric boating scene ,could someone explane the diference between a inrunner and outrunner motor and what is ment by a 4 turn or6 turn motor thanks for reading

      Hi John, sorry no one answered this for you. Inrunners are a 'normal' motor with an internal rotor that turns the output shaft, outrunners are more commonly used for planes, they spin an outside rotor, this produces more torque which suits plane props. Have a look on Hobbykings website at the differences for pics( just my easy/ simple suggestion). 4 turn, 6 turn etc seems to be a car thing, not really very good for choosing boat motors as the motor size (diameter and length)and kv is a clearer/easier way to identify. Then there are manufacturer sizes such as neu, lehners use, just to confuse more. Plenty of guys here understand it all better than I do but.

          Outrunner motors work great in small boats like 22"-24" in single lipo boats with flood chambers or without flood chambers. They need cooling blocks in front of outrunner with mounting holes in the 16mm and 19mm range. I have a 26-28-2700 outrunner on 3S in a 22" mono with a Octura 632 b & s and works great.
