Teflon liner wont fit into stuffing tube?

    Gents,

I am trying to fit an Octura branded .187 Teflon liner into a 9/32'' piece of brass, and there is considerable resistance getting it to slide in. If I push any harder I am going to kink the Teflon liner. I tried popping the liner into the freezer for a few hours to contract it and that didn't help. I purchased this particular octura .187 Teflon liner since it is designed for my .187 flex and 9/32'' OD stuffing tube. Any ideas?

There have been some Octura liners that have come oversize and were a pain to fit. I had this happen on two different liners, both from Octura.

Try soapy water in the stuffing tube and if you have a piece of solid 1/4" shaft stick a collar or drive dog on it to use as a push guide so the liner will not kink. If it still does not fit, send it back.

Ive had this happen on a couple of Octura liners, as said stretching the liner & it will go in very easy.

Thanks for the help guys, I didn't think about just stretching it out, I'll give it a try tonight. My stuffing tube is already bent to shape so hopefully I can slide it in with the curve of the stuffing tube. I'll let you know how it works out....

I went ahead and stretched it, worked like a champ! I am going to leave it overnight to see if it expands back to shape and has ample friction in the stuffing tube. If all is well I am going to install the tube into my FC Daytona. Thanks for the help everyone!
