    TP power 4092 amp question

Hi i was going to go ahead and order the TP Power 4092 1800kv motor, but was looking at specs and max amps are 221 but i have already bought the SF 220 pro+. 220 con 250 burst just wondering if I should go down to a 4082 for less amps. F1 hull, 5s nothing crazy just sport boat something around the 44mm/46mm prop. http://www.tppower.com/sort.asp?class_id=4&news=44

    Thanks

I have no experiance with that motor as it maybe amp hungry but do not take a stated max amps as what the motor will pull.
That is more the maker saying that it should pull no more than that for the saftey of the motor i think.
I have seen 60 amp motors pull over 200 amps given enough voltage and load.no it did not last long.
Hopfully some one with experiance with that motor can give you more info.

The TP motor I have (4092/2200) runs a bit hotter than my Neus, but it handles 150+ amps well and should be fine in a OB. You don't want to pull over 200 amps for most applications anyway as it builds heat quickly limiting run time for sport boating. Racing with 90-120 seconds run time it is not a problem. Your setup seems okay as long as the boat is well trimmed, but check temps often anyway.

Ya thats the max amps the motor can handle (briefly) It doesnt mean you will be pulling that amount. The actual amps used are mainly determined by prop choice. That motor and esc are fine together.

the TP Power motors pull less amps than Leopards of the same size IMO

I have a TP4092 but mine is 980kv. I'm running it on 8s right now. But on 8s in my fantasm, I'm running a PS 5517. And I'm only pulling 156 amps. And thats a monster prop for that motor and boat, IMO
