    CG?????

    hi
    i have browsed around for i while on this forum and i seen that alot of people ask "where is the CG on this boat?"

    what does tha mean..
    is it center of gravity? and how can you adjust it?

    Yes, it's center of gravity. I move the battery packs toward the bow or stern to achieve the correct CG in my boats.

      ok so if i have my packs in the middle it would be CG=50%?

        That depends on the placement of the other components in the hull. The way to find the CG is to find the hulls balance point. I just lift the hull with one finger on either side to do that.

          so basically you find a balance point and then adjust from there?

            The balance point tells you where your CG is. Different hulls need different CG placement for the best performance. I started with the CG on my cat at 30 percent and fine adjusted from there, based on what gave the best speed and handling.
            To find the percentage I take the balance point distance from the stern and divide that number by the total length of the hull, 8.75" divided by 29" = .30, or 30 percent.

                Some of the guys here can tell you a good CG starting point for just about any kind of hull, I know I've learned alot here
