Original prototype Hi Tech CG - O - Meter - Often found as a minor structural component inside your next-door neighbor's lawn furniture. Best obtained while they're away on vacation

Actually all these folks are talking about center of balance which is 2 dimensional. Center of gravity is 3 dimensional and can be a point in space outside of the boat. As is evident by Tony's responses - as all his thinking is out of the boat!

Correction : Most of my thinking is about a closely related concept : the Center of Gravy http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...d=0CIgBEPwdMAw

              ROFL Tony....

Your tool reminded me of a very old TV Ad:

I was actually employed as a design consultant on the Fold A Way Timber after they caught wind of my original Vac-U-Pickle prototype :

We eventually worked the bugs out after conquering some aerodynamic issues (and the extension cord dilemma) : http://www.vac-u-boat.com/Vac-U-Pickle.htm

You're 100% correct although it would obsolete the empire I intend to create marketing the Hi-Tech CG-O-Meter.
