    1527 1y on12s?

Has anyone run these motors on 12s? The max volts for these are 48volts and fully charged 12s is I've that . I would really like to be able to get Max rpm out of my set up.

Neu's are built not to grenade at 60K but they run VERY hot at that rpm which means the chances of burning something up are very good. This is an extreme set up and I wouldn't recommend it for beginners. Lessons learned would be very expensive.

No one can tell you what prop would be too big. We don't even know what your set up is. When pushing gear this hard the only way to know what props will work is to spend time at the pond, start off small and work your way up. Not only with the props but the entire boat set up.

So what is your set up and your goals??

My set up is a 44 mhz mystic c/k with mhz stingers and rudder 2 neu 1527 1y 2 200 hv castle speed controllers. At this point in build I'm finding my cog. I haven't epoxied anything in yet. Looking to try and get setup right as possible.

My goal is to work my way up in speed as my experience will allow. Would like to see one day 90 to 100mph. I do know that's not an easy task but the experience and challenge is what I'm looking for.

do not put 12s to those motors...you will have a really bad smell in a really nice hull..its a 1250 kv motor correct? more like starting with 7s with 50 mm props and see how fast you go..it will be impressive..then you can decide if you want to turn it into a SAW boat with a more extreme setup..if you have money to burn (and equipment) then do not listen to me..it just gets expensive and it takes the fun out of boating when you spend a lot of time making these boats go fast and burn things all the time...I know this from burning things early on in my rc boat adventures like the countless others on OSE..

These are 6S motors with a 50-52mm prop even a 55-57 for short periods. 8S is very hot on that motor. On 12S you will use a 40mm maybe a 42 but I wouldn't recommend putting 12s to those motors, unless you like smoke (speedo and motor smoke)

Yes these are 1250kv motors up to 48volts , so the way I see it I can run up to 10s on these motors correct? I have 6s battery's I use for my Heli I run on 12s. I guess I'll break the boat in on them then work my way up. Thanks guys this I very helpful I hope people will still chime in on this topic.

You could run up to 10S as a SAW motor particularly in a twin installation, but you assume the risks of catastrophic failure. The motor is not the weak point, but the ESC is! If you prop a little too much the Castle HV will cook. These are not as robust as the ICE 240's.

You also want to use the 8mm shaft motors for very high speeds.

And please add na extra cap bank to each side to not burn your bucks.Castle esc's are good ones but the weak part of them is capacitors.Just have tested a 240 in a saw rigger and had two popped caps that factory repaired for free so don't forget to add this inespensive banks for any S set up.for props don't go bigger than 47mm and you will be fast!
