I've been into this hobby for a out 6 months, I used to race rc cars and I'm still learning every day. You may want to buy a rtr boat to start or possibly a used boat in good running order from one of the members. There is a thread here a out items for sale from other members. I'd recommend buying any decent boat that will use the same batteries you intend to run in the hull you just purchased to save you money in the long run.

Another thought is to go to builds threads and find a similar boat that you just purchased and it will show you how someone else has done it. Good luck

John welcome aboard..some times it takes time to people reply but you are in the right place so don't worry.I guess HK showed a good set up for this rigger so follow their instruction to start plaiyng as most of rtr boats can go fast.I would buy a Zippkits mini rigger instead of this one but as I stated give the first step before spend Money with wrong parts.Gill

Yep as Gill says buy a Zippkits Mini Sprint + they come with all the parts except motor & esc, they will by far out perform the HK rigger. I have a Mini Sprint & they handle very well indeed & guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

            Use it.
            Welcome to the game.
Since you have bought the kit & will most likely build it, even if you do get a Zippkits rigger, this might help you out a bit.
I'm going to run a ducted fan unit for something a bit different, but I thought the instructions showed the recommended running gear.

            All the best.

              gday everyone,
i would like to thank you all for replying to my questions.i would love to have gone with the zippkitts model but iam on a dissability pension due to a inherated bad heart gene so any funds i have must go to my wife and 2 daughters first and then iff a few dollars come my way i spend as wisely as i can.
i just wanted to make sure i purchased the right running gear to get this little beast cranking, then i can use this as a template for other builds.i have my own work shop i can make alot gear if i have to ,old toolmakers never die they just play with their tools more.
              anyways thanks john

Sorry to hear this John and I'm sure you will enjoy your boat. The motor/esc gear recommended by Zippkits will suit your needs for your boat as they are almost the same size.Good luck Gill
