    Extra cap pack

Just wondering on if and how you water proof your cap packs and does anyone add a cooling block to them or they do they not get hot enough to worry about it.

    Thanks

I never thought of that, but if the cap bank is hot enough to warrant cooling block, then there is something wrong with the set up. Not trying to be a smart A**, I can't imagine the benefit would out weight the length with which one has to go in order to get it right.
The caps are themselves sealed, all you need to do is seal the soldered points.

I didn't think you would need a cooling block but wanted to check. Liquid electrical tape and some heat shrink. Thanks for the advice

I remember reading somewhere a post about being careful not to cover the caps with liquid tape as that can trap heat... I can't remember who said that...

I have had several proboat ESCs completely under water and the caps are not covered up and they run fine.

Not going to cover it just the solder points then shrink wrap it as extra so it doesn't touch anything and short out. Never used them before so wasn't sure about heat, the caps on the esc can get warm after a run.

You don't need to cool caps as they have self heat dissipation so keep them dry to be in the safe side.but if you want to shrink wrap them you are ok.Gill
