Where are all the electric airboats?

I think someone on this forum could build an electric airboat better than the ones I viewed on youtube.

Liked the one where a guy used a kids body board for land or water. Just needs a little better engineering.

I know of a number of folks who frequent RCGroups that have made airboats...recently. one (or more) used 'boogie boards'(retrieve boats) and one built from scratch as a (get this) bait boat. most of the threads are in the 'dock talk' section.

Im surprised with more affordable lipo and brushless there is not more ducted fans used.

i think you can use it but i think the reason its not used is the way you will have to place the rudders.

What about placing the ducted fans on pivots and turn them with servos? It would not need an air rudder.

I built this around 2 years ago but never used it on water, I flew it and ran it on grass. I've seen them on the water and they rock.

What about a Vortex conversion. Thw big AQ hydro airboat hybrid would be a nice platform for an Lsize KB on 4s-1p.

I was thinking airboats would be a cool racing class...not like I need another boat, but I think a brushless airboat would be a kick to drive, not to mention hilarious to watch several of them try to negotiate a course.
