    Problems with Feigo 7xl ?

Hi all over the weekend i was running my Matrix ultimate outrigger set up with a Etti 150 amp esc 4s 5000 mah 45c lipo and a feigo 7xl and x637 prop. The rigger was a consistant 55 mph boat until it stopped 30 seconds into the final run of the day upon recovering the boat i opened the lid all all gear was cool pulling the throtlle lever the motor was just stuttering and shaking a bit for process of elimination i plugged my Leopard motor in the esc and it worked fine. What may the problem be with the 7xl ? This is a closed can motor i see no way of opening to have a look inside. Regards Andris Golts.

First, check the solder on the motor connectors. Otherwise the motor has probably developed an internal short in the windings. If so it is now an ESC destroyer - don't plug in an ESC. You can open the motor by grabbing the can firmly and slamming the end of the shaft down onto a piece of wood. This will pop off the endbell so you can look inside - although I doubt that you will be able to see anything useful. Time for a new motor, they don't last forever.

I had a similar problem with a fiegao motor a few years back, If I can remember correctly the magnet on the shaft is in 3 segments, one of the magnets may have broken loose from the epoxy and shifted, this will change the magnetic field and cause the problem you're having. like Fluid said time to get a new motor.
