Well today was fathers day and my 7 year old son and I decided to go down to the
public boat launch in the small town were I live and try out the new minicatracing
hydro. I set up the esc as per the directions, put fresh batteries in the radio, charged the 3s 11.1v lipo pack and set her in the water I applied the throttle and the boat launched forward I let of the throttle to see the response seemed okay I then gave it another burst the boat got about 50 feet away from me, and then I noticed it was not steering I let of the throttle and nothing
I watched as the little boat propelled itself closer and closer to the dock and then...............
It hit the dock and everyone watching let out quite ohhhhhhhhh. One guy standing on the dock who was helping his friend launch there 1:1 boat turned around from the load crash leaned over to grab it and no sooner than his hands were inches away and it sank, 20ft below the dock right below where everyone launches there boats.
So I am guessing everything is probably toast now this was 12 hours ago, I am wondering if it is even worth the dive to try salvage it, the hull is
the motor
and esc are more than likely beyond water damaged and my fancy new lipo pack
well....anyhow so thats my first attempt at the whole electric journey maybe I should of stuck with the nitro and gas boats, never sank one ever, and by the way I did have the hull packed with flotation but apparently not enough, take care
