Dusted off the boats, need motor suggestion!

It's been a long time since I've posted here, a lot going on with family and such so the boats have been sitting quite a while. Anyway, I have a H&M Viper turbine hull that I used to run a Feigao 540 10L on 4S in (sport use, not competition). The boat was definitely fast, but as always- I want more.. I am considering going with the Leopard 3674 2.5D 2675KV on 4S and wanted opinions. I am just going for a fast setup that I can fly up and down the canal with a couple times and pull it in. Not looking for long run times or anything, I have other boats for that. Will this combo work, or would there be a better option? I believe it was 57mph on GPS with the old setup, but it's literally been years, so my memory may be off, definitely no slower than 53 (might be getting a couple of boats confused). I want to shoot for 60+ this time around. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Im not familiar with the dimesnions of that hull. The motor you chose is getting into some higher rpms. You have other boats so obviously have some knowledge and aready stated you were looking only for a few high speed passes so based on that the motor would be a good choice(providing the hull isnt over 30") otherwise you maybe want to look at a motor in the 40mm range for the extra power. You'll need an esc that will handle some fairly hi current spikes.

Thanks for the reply. IIRC, the hull is about 24-25". It ran well on the 10L, but want more out of it. I have had this hull since about 1999-2000, so it's been with me a while and doesn't really get used anymore (hasn't had running gear in it for about 4 years now), so I figured I'd just make it a shelf queen that hauls ass on the rare occasions I take it out :D.

if its that small then a 36 size motor is def enough. it would be crazy fast and likely a real handfull..lol

As ignorant as it may sound- that is exactly what I am shooting for with this boat :D.

            3674 2675 KV on 4s ,about 25 inch?

i believe 60mph for such a small hull will only be obtained on very very smooth water and is a disaster waiting to happen

in my book;+/- 40.000rpm isn't "sport boating" either

if you realy want a controlable and reliable 60mph ,you"l need something around 32-35 inch

I agree, and I have them as well! I already mentioned that I just want ridiculously overpowered, short runs out of this one. I don't mean "sport" as in driving around a lake for 10 minutes, I mean "sport" as in not competing in any events so "legality" isn't an issue. Looking to make it something that gets the "holy $#!&" response when it hits the water, makes a couple passes and comes back in (or is retrieved ), more of a SAW setup. It's already run consistent upper 50's (pretty sure it was this one that GPS'd 57mph) and when setup right, handles fairly well. Of course, it's blown over a few times as well, but I expect that at this level. Like I said, looking to go against the grain a bit and just have pure ridiculousness out of this one as it is rarely used any way. This was my first FE boat and is still with me after all these years, so it's more of a shelf queen anyway, but I want it to run like a banshee when it is used :).

I'm not trying to be argumentative, so please don't think that. I am already well aware of the negatives to such a setup. I just wanted to know if it would meet my goals, and if not, what motor would. My thinking was that if I did go this route, I could always run it on 2-3S as well for actual "sport" running (though not as efficient as a proper 4s sport setup). Thanks.
