For now I used my old trick:DSCN3412_3613.jpg
The "o" ring at the wire end is good, the jacket IS Tapered inside---got word from Dave at HRC, I used a broken ring on the front to create proper clearance , ( ironically because it is missing a section, it is smaller and the jacket could go on w/o undue effort). Sealed the front with silicone sealer. It has worked for me in the past w/o any long term problem. We will see.
Thank you all for helping me. This is really a great place!
Just want to say that I like HRC jacket, this is not a complaining thread against HRC product. In fact I use HRC jackets on my Leopard and Steve Neu motors.
Southwest here. Need some refining on explanation, just buzz me.

I PM'ed you in the hopes that I can see a picture of the PVC jacket. My posting of my salvaged water cooler was not meant to disregard your kind offer, hope I didn't convey a wrong message, if I did, I apologize!
Ok so you just need two different size O rings,
Go to a pool supply place and get them.
They should have a assortment of o rings that you could try from.

Ive done that when I have damaged Orings too, not as pretty but it seems to hold the water in OK which is what counts.

I don't, I like the fact that they work and are available in the sizes they are, as before the Leopards came out they were the only 40mm option and they are still the only option for some motors. I use them on my Neu 15XX motors as they were the only option when I bought them and the Leopard coolers are very similar and not a big enough improvement to be worth swapping over, but I much prefer the Lehner type jackets which are now widely copied in China, I use a Lehner one on my 2280, Chinese ones on all my 28mm and 36mm motors, and if anyone made them for 40mm motors I would swap to them from HRC in an instant, the Lehner style are much lighter, are of a smaller outside diameter for the same inside diameter so you can mount the motor lower, and it holds a lesser volume of water which further reduces the weight when running and improves the cooling.
Lehner type 36mm XL jacket @OSE
cooling jacket Motor is a 2860-2700 -3S max with long can and smooth as silk. The second picture shows where I buffed at angle so it would fit snug to m/mount and also not touch bottom of boat. I generally put a piece of wood under the rear to minimize vibration and make it a solid unit, works.

Thanks! I like it! Sorry that I keep asking the same question: where do you get the "O" rings? and yes, I can see the seal against the motor can is really good.
@ NativePaul, I have never had a Lehner type cooler, guess if I have had one I might be singing a different song. Reason I like the HRC jacket is the quality of the machining of the "O" ring channel, very rarely does the "o" ring jump out during installation and the profile of the ring is taller thus giving more clearance/volume---something I see you don't care for. I need to rethink my logic here.
As an aside, I do like their newer type of brass fittings where you can adjust their angle w/o having to turn the thread on the fitting, although the Leopart brass fittings have a larger i.d., nothing is perfect...
I agree that they are a bit on the thick side, they can be thinner and lighter.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this !
