    renegade first runs

I built a renegade rigger and ran it today after a couple of times for tuning. I got it to run wide open finally and it's great and fast. It took a couple trips to adjust stuff and now I think I have a good baseline. I started with the y531 prop provided by renegade and it semmed great. I had allittle to much fun and ran it too long and over heated the motor and lipo. The motor got to about 190 and the lipo 160 and balloned. Both of which are completely my fault but I was having so much fun and it was working so good I didn't want to stop. Next time I will set timmer and see how long wide open I can go and be safe. Do you think the motor will make it or do I for sure have to replace it? The battery hit the trash already. I figure I'll get use to it as far as driving it and timing it then try the x432 I have for it and shorten the time. Great little build and fast boat!!!! Later Shawn

      yes

Yes I do have the phoenix 25 by cc but I'm having a hard time getting into programing mode to set up lipo cut off or other settings. When I do what it says as far as hold down trigger when plugging in esc it beeps once but no matter how long I hold it it won't get to program mode? I have programed mamba 25 manytimes in the past so I know how to do it normally but maybe it has something to do with useing the pixtix adapter? I also tried trimming throttle up and down during the process and still no program mode. Any suggestions? I do have a cord to hook up a mamba max to computer but I didn't see a port to plug in esc? When I checked voltage in pack prior to trash it still was well above 9 volts but way to hot.

Check if your ESC is compatible with a programming card. This is a great a simple way to manage your speedcontrollers!

          esc

Thanx I will but I don't think cc phoenix 25 use cards. I will check around.

I use a CC Pheonix 35 in mine and is PC driven, I did not have the software when purchased it and set it up the old beeb method, PIA but try again and take your time reading the instructions well.

The problem he has is to get into programming mode, I quote:

ok, the mamba max only comes with a generic usb cable like the ones you use with your digital camera, you need the castle link, its a little chip that plugs onto the usb cable and to the ESC, they come with a usb cable though, here is a link.

Is your rigger up and running yet? I would love to see some pics and vids. Mine is almost ready, my dad has been busy so painting has been on the back burner for a while.

                      renegade

Yes I've been running it I just have to be careful not to run the lipo to low because I can't get into the esc to program the cut off. Now I know about the small link cable so I will get that since the program mode isn't working right. I'm going to try it again tonight with instructions in hand and see if I'm missing something. Great rigger though after you get it tuned in and handling right. I had so much fun the last time out I ran it to long and over heated the moter and battery which balloned and hit the trash but it was worth it. It was the first full throttle laps after some adjustments and what a kick in the pants it was. I'm going tomarrow and I will try to video it. I'll take some pics later and post.

Just to throw in some help, if you do much programming at all on castle esc's, the usb link is a MUST HAVE!!! At my shop we program around 20 or so esc's every weekend, and that thing makes it an absolute breeeeze!!
Yes its fast, yes it will go far away, yes its expensive. No you cant try it.
