    Bandit M (COG)

    Hii Guys...,

I have this text translates on a site (sorry for the mistakes!!),
I have a question about the COG of a Bandit M

    Here my parts;
    2x Lehner 2240/7
    2x YGE 160HV Navy
    2x 6s lipo 5000mah 50C
and of course the smaller parts

my boat is 107cm/100% so 30% is 32.1cm
but if I push all the parts in my boat,
I come at 37% and slide backwards as far as possible
is this normal??, my flex-axes a very short this way!!
does anyone here have experience with it?

will makes photos as soon as possible !!

    Greetings from the Netherlands

Kan ik de lipos vast zetten met klittenband of vliegen ze dan door de boot
want heb weinig plaats om een batterij-tray teplaatsen
-(Can I fix the lipos with velcro or fly the lipos through the boat, because I have to little space to place a battery-tray)

hoe maken jullie de lipos normaal vast als ze voorin de boot liggen?
-(How do you make the lipos normally solid, if they lie in the front of the boat)

              graaaaag HULP
              Pleaaaaase HELP !!!!!!

I would think that once you add all the hardware that the COG will move back a bit. I use velcro to hold the batteries in place as well in my twin cat.

                  Thanks egneg

                  I will try that ....
my COG with all the hardware in the boat sits on +/-39% (in the middle of the second step)

Yeah I usually make a (ply or carbon) tray and use velcro, the tray is slightly elevated of the bottom, just enough room to slip the velcro underneath. I use some smaller pieces of material as spacers. This way your batteries are also slightly of the bottom for that (rare?) occasion you get some water inside.

Sorry the photo is not that clear.
Also; just double-checking, You probably know this but 'voor de zekerheid' ; If you have overhang like your cat, the length is measured over the wet area only, so from the rear of the last step to the nose in your case. This might change your CG...

Okayy,, thanks for the tip viper1!!!

I measured from the end of the boat (?!)

my boat is 107cm,, from the last step to the front is 97,5cm
                        if i calculate (30% is +/- COG) 97.5cm / 100 = 0.975 x 30% = 29.25cm from the back of the last step

then it look likes this picture

                        DSC_1124.jpgDSC_1123.jpg

the WHITE tape is the COG
my batterys going backwards this way!!

(I thought the COG is in the middle of the second step,, so that is wrong)

Now I can make the batterytray with Velcro easier!!!

                        THANKSS

                            I make a battery-tray with Velcro

                            DSC_1126.jpg

It's perfect for in the boat

now I can put the lipos where I want, the battery-tray is 26cm..,
the tray is slightly elevated of the bottom, like you said

the material is glass-fibre sheet, and I stick a nice carbon-look sticker on it!!!

Ever thought there is a reason why I said COG roughly at the middle of the 2nd step and not simply 30%.
But hey, if the others got enough experience and skills with 100mph+ boats, then its fine.

Just as a side note: For years now I'm using lipo tray systems like those in my catamarans. Not cheap but one of the best inventions ever:

Absolutely easy to fix lipos almost at any position in the boat. You just need access to the front screw. In some of my boats this was already the position I had, the complete lipo itself was already beneath the upper deck in the front.

                              regards,
                              Manuel
