    cat purchase advice

Hey could i get some advice on buying a boat. I found this on craigslist and i don't know if its a good deal or not. It is the type of boat i would like to build. But i didnt know with all the hardware i would have to buy and brushless motor, if it would just be better to buy a sv27 or blackjack. Thanks alot for the advice. http://springfield.craigslist.org/tag/686053485.html

It would be a very expensive project to run that hull on brushless power. If you are comparing a project like that to a Blackjack there is no comparison. If you want to build something there are smaller hulls available which would be more economical for electric power.

if you haven't yet purchased a cat hull or any hull to build, may i suggest going with the toysport "jolly" cat that steve here at offshore sells. by now it appears to be the cat to have and its performance with economical electronics/powertrain has set a milestone in the high speed r/c boat catagory.

just look at SJFEs threads on this jolly cat.

imo....you couldn't go wrong on this hull.
