How do I make a fun track?

Hi everybody, I'm new to boats.
Myself and a few of the friends I fly RCairplanes with have now started to mess around with boats.
Currently we have two Supervee27's on order, one Hammer EP and one or two home made boats to play with....And yes, since we are boys (in our 30's) and have power toys avaiable we want to race!!!

We'll try to set up some sort of race / fun driving track in a small pond, but beeing new and never been around RCboats we have no clue on how to make the track?

I'd really appreaciate some input on how to make bouys and also the layout of the track.... and also other advice on RCboating would be fun.

    Thanks and regards from Finland

Easy way use plastic bleach bottles ... paint bottom and anchor in pond! If you can find the weights from old windows use them! If not cement in coffee can - tie it off go out in a small boat and set your course! If it just for fun decide how long you want it!

I would recommend setting up at least two buoys for each turn so you have some space between boats on the straights, assuming you want a oval pattern.

We used tide jugs cause their bright orange. I bought rope at Harbor Freight for 5 bucks and (5)1/2 blocks at lowes for les than $5. We have an oval with abouy in the middle of the backstretch that you have to come inside it. You could pry figure out your distance w/ a gps.
