Gas to Brushless 64" bonzi fountain

I have a 64" bonzi fountain with a K30 engine in it now. I would like to convert to brushless as my other boats are brushless. I just looking for what other people have done with big boat conversions. I want to keep it a single motor and need ideas for motor, esc, and lipos. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Neal

The CC2028 if fairly cheap right now and it should push that big of a boat fairly good on 10s. Plus a SF 300amp esc should also work. And if you wanna save a few more $$ on your motor. The Beast 528 is the same as the 2028. just different maker

Alex what are u refuring to? Are u saying fine design motors are nicer leopards and u would just buy a Nue motor?

                Hello neal58cobra,

I just finished the boat below (1st build ever) with the help of fellow forum members. The build is a revival of a 42" Davete Aspect Shallow V gas hull I felt in love with and wanted to do an FE version. You may find usefull information for you application going to my build. The motor that I used is a Proteus x524 in delta configuration running at 910Kv with a 59mm 3 blade CNC aluminum propeller. The video does not deserve an Oscar but, at least it will give you and idea of what to expect. I am powering the boat with 4x4S lipos in a 8S2P configuration and it runs very well. This same motor setup powered with 10s should really fly but you would need a 300mAh ESC minimum.

Here is the link to my build if you are interested:

Fine designs motors are leoperds . As for the neu they are great depending on you budget if I had the money is buy a lehner but that's just a matter of preference, price and boating needs

As I've found I tend to keep motors when I sell boats so spending a little on electronics isn't such a hit on my wallet if it last 2-3 years

Gyrotron that is a nice build! Did u ever GPS the boat?

                        Alex thanks for the info.

I'm still gathering data on what I want. I would like to see the boat in the 50s to low 60s but it may cost to much. I don't want cheap stuff but I also don't want the most expensive stuff either. Is this even realistic of the speeds I'm looking for? From what I gather would a 10000 watt motor be a good start or do I need some more power? I also see an esc is also limited also. I think I will be running 10s lipos or 8s.

Again thanks for all the info and help guys!

                          neal58cobra,

No, I do not have a GPS at the moment that will be the next device to get for the boat. Due to the pond size limitation at any point in the video, I had a chance to go WOT but I figure mid to high 40's in the segments of the video were it is going faster maybe 3/4 throttle. I believe my boat would reach the 50mph mark without issues if allowed to go WOT. On your build I would go 10S minimum and no less than 10,000mAh.

This is the motor I am running on my boat

It will push from 59" to 78" size hulls so it will work for your application just fine.
