Best motor for my miss elam 1/12 brushless hydro

Hey everyone, first post on the offshore, anyways, let me start out by saying i am VERY newbie with RC stuff, i only use it for fun, never
raced, never competed. Just for fun. Last year in my miss elam i had a fire in the electronics, everything had to be replaced, even the plastic tray that held the electronics. Anyways, after a 400+ dollar replacement and only 4 weeks later my motor froze up. Doesn't turn over nothing. Just makes loud noises. The miss elam boat (at least mine) get so much water in the boat while running that after a few laps it needs to be drained. Well after the 3+ moths i used the motor i never sprayed WD40 in it or any oil, so now you know why it froze up... Now to my question For my new motor, what would you recommend, i had a big forum up on rcgroups but sadly i didnt get much help, only one fellow helped me a little named wparsons. He actually told me to come here. I want the fastest motor that my boat can handle. And most reliable. They narrowed it down to the 2030KV aquacraft motor. Or the original motor that they give you when its the RTR model. My electronics consist of:

    My current set up is
AquaCraft 60 amp brushless esc lipo ready

Spectrum 2.4 GHz DSM SR200 sport surface receiver

    Waterproof traxxas survo

& my controller DX2E DSM radio system.

The boat runs off two 2s venom 5400 20c 7.4v lipo batteries

i have a bigger prop on it, but im also looking to get a better one, the one consists of, 1.6" x 2.5" Composite Propeller

So nows when i ask YOU, what do you recommend? Better motor out there? 2030KV good for it? Original motor? Better prop?
Thanks everyone with your patience. Sorry for being the noob

Sorry forgot to label the original motor, the original motor that comes with the RTR pack is A3630-1500 Water-cooled brushless

Whatever motor you select if you think it will get wet treat it with corrosion x (before and after getting wet).

Are you greasing the shaft and taping the hatch

My Elam used to take on a crapload of water no matter what I did.the hatch was so warped, even with the magnets and tape it still broke free. Also the ridiculous antenna hole let in plenty of water.
A 2030 would work well. IMO you would be better off parting the boat out and grabbing a ul1. But if you really like the hull try plugging antenna hole if you haven't and tape that hatch down well. Check for leaks in cooling system too and grease the shaft

I have a friend who is running this hull well with a ul1 2030kv motor but I am not sure which prop he is using.

I frankly don't know if this hull is better off with a 1500 kv motor and a large prop or 2030kv motor with a small prop.

I have the current ( Dynamite brand) Proboat 1800kv with a x642 prop. This is actually on Darin Jordan's hull I bought here awhile back, it is a great set up, infact I remember he suggested this set up after I told him that I happen to have this motor .

Darin's hull is heavily moded, he took out the stock strut ( submerged) and mounted a regular one on the transom, ( read his excellent thread on how he race-prep this boat) , he used a x645 with the Proboat 1500kv, I recall as he related the info at the time I was buying his boat. His set up was based on 1:30 flat out racing. If you are doing sport run with lots on-off throttle, watch out for temp.
Def with a 1800kv, you can use x642.

I just bought the A3630-1500 Brushless Motor motor, is that the 1800KV you where talking about? What prop now would go well with the A3630-1500 Brushless Motor?

Did you buy from Proboat? Yours is the 1500kv, mine is the 1800kv which is not the original motor, it is slightly faster but not recommanded to go with any props that is bigger than the x642 that I am using. Darin used a x645 with the 1500kv. However, his hull is modified, don't know if a 45mm prop will clear below the bottom on a stock boat. I like the 1800 kv rating. Seems the boat can take it.

no you bought the original motor. you dont need to purchase from proboat to get their item you know. the stock 1500 is a good motor, with a x642 youll get into the upper 40s
