    Pro boat makes a nice little gun. Fitting goes into the stuffing tube no problem. Maybe a shot of corrosion x for penetration every now and then. It's the least messy way I've found

        I just meant that in an engine, the oil is constantly washed away and refreshed by fresh fuel and oil. It's not the "same" oil always staying in the engine, breaking down under heat.

          I have the ProBoat gun as well, nice to be able to "shoot" into the bushings. But I coat Grim Racer Speed Grease on the cable, when I am done "delivering" the grease evenly through out the entire stuffing tube, just before the stub shaft enters the bushing, I give a few drops of my heavy gear oil. On struts with ball bearings, only oil will do, as the grease is too thick.
          I know this is all personal, the important thing is whichever method worked for you shell be the way.

            I also use proboat grease.
            I like the pump and never had any problems.

            My boats runs <50k rpms.
