    New CC ESC or not

I procrastinated so long that my CC Hydra LV 240 can no longer be exchanged for a new or reconditioned one anymore at Castle. I did one of those stupid things when it was new on the bench. After soldering new connectors onto it, I was ready to test it. In the process of testng it, I connected my receiver battery up to it reverse polarity. Needless to say, it didn't survive. I should have sent it back a while back. So, I will have to exchange it plus $190 for a hydra Ice 240. The other option is to just throw it away. Any comments on the Hydra Ice 240? How does it rate as compared to the Hydra 240?

I run a few and have been very happy with them. Even in high amp set ups.

I havent read too much bad on the boards about them either.

I've had zero luck with these. The problem is always on the same motor so i question the setup now. I run that motor on old h240. Works perfectly on that. IDK.

Wish they made an Ice300 HV. I'd have a couple of those please.

My Ice 240 is awesome. It has been thru the wringer so to speak. Broke a flex, blew the 1717rotor,but only had to reset the ESC and she is fine today.I'd say well worth the exchange price.

I have been using ICE controllers for over three years. One ICE240LV ran over twenty sets of SAW passes pulling 300 plus amps, no issue. I ran that same controller in my Q Sport Hydro for two years - zero issues. I do keep the wires reasonably short and use top quality packs, and IMO these are the best mid-priced marine ESC on the market. Don't be scared.

I've never had one fail in use. The Ice in my P SAW hydro has 60+ passes, all over 350 amps. My N2 Hydro had over 100 passes on it before it was permanently deposited on the bottom of Legg Lake (with the rest of the boat). No problems with either.

Of course I'm biased, but if it works why change!
