Hi, I just got an IM-31 couple days ago. Sold the stock ESC & radio system so I only did a brief function test; I tried to scan the ESC instructions but it's a fold open type deal, after several unsuccessful tries I gave up.

Based on a couple years worth of experience with car / truck ESC’s I’ve learned that program boxes make things FAR easier. With that said here’s the one you need for your boat… http://www.proboatmodels.com/Product...ProdID=PRB3311

Personally, if it were me, I would get a Seaking ESC and sell the stocker, that’s what I’m doing (stocker is already sold). The program box I use for my trucks also works with the Seaking, primary reason for doing the swap. More info about the Seaking’s is here… http://www.hobbywing.com/product.asp?bigclassid=12

If your on a budget, I've got one of these... http://www.hobbywing.com/product_show.asp?id=223 - that I would be willing to sell, I want to get a 90 or 120a unit. Mine was only used a handful of times and only with 8.4v NiMH batts; I've got pix if your interested.

      Hello.
I just got the pro boat program card. Makes it much easier. The timing was set to soft so I changed it to hard and going to run it today to see if that makes a difference.
So far all the stock electronics work well in the boat. Everything is cool after a run. I'm sure that the temps might go up a bit with the timing changed.

The proboat motor likes soft/low timing...
Be SURE to change the throttle to LINEAR. Default is Logrithmic, which maxes out the power at 85%. I would also turn off Brake while you are at it.

          Hey Chief,
          As I mentioned in my 1st reply I'm going with a Seaking speedo, as I'm sure you know HW express's timing in degree's - choices: 0°, 3.75°, 7.5°, 11.25°, 15°, 18.75°, 22.5°, 26.25° - which would be closest to PB's "soft/low" setting??

          Thanks - JW

The 11.25 is what you want with that motor,
Hears a link to some info on that motor.

Thanks Lenny (x2), I was just getting ready to ask about running a x442 instead of the m445 others recommend.

Steve & Jan both sell CNC'ed x442's - $20 range, m445's only avail raw or sharpened & balanced ($40), I would need the latter.
