    fighter cat esc

I have a fighter cat 300mah 3s-16s esc and a 1020 kv black nemsis from finedesigin what is a good timing to set the esc to I was told 7 for some reason its not as the castle I had in. Don't have that speed need some advice not to familiar with fightercat esc what is a good setting I have the programming box just need some pointers on programing it to my 1020 kv motor

if the motor is a Delta wind use 3 to 5 degrees
if the motor is a Wye wind use 5 to 10 degrees.

If you do not have the programming instructions, here you go

    FighterCat ESC Instructions (latest version).doc

you will need a seperate receiver battery to hook up to the programming box.
it gets plugged into the plug closest to you when you hold it.

watch the polarity when plugging both the battery and the esc into the program box.

the little square wave symbol is the signal wire (usually orange, white or even brown)

IMO i would run no more than 6S2P and 5000MAH and 40C batteries for power. (with that KV rating on the motor)

    hope this helps you out.

also make sure and calibrate your throttle on the ESC as well.

also set the voltage cut off no lower than 3.7volts per cell.

it puts a strain on the ESC and can get very hot.

Also, at 3.0V cutoff you will over discharge your packs. They will be empty instead of still having around 20% capacity left. Especially with such a light amp load. The capacity will be used up before the voltage sags down to a 3.00V cut off. That's when packs get hot & swollen.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

3.7 is too high of a cutoff, under hard acceleration and longer runs "most" packs wont even hold 3.7 under heavy load. 3.0 is fine but if you want to be safe go to 3.2. I routinely bring my packs down to under 5% during offshore heats with no problems, they even seem to be stronger after I recharge them and use them again the same day. just don't store them for any extended period when they're that low.
