Why not get the brushed version and upgrade to brushless later on when the $$ are available.

Obviously the hull can handle the speed cuz there's a brushless version from the factory. You don't "have to" use Proboat parts to upgrade to brushless, there's plenty of affordable stuff available from HobbyPartz and other online vendors.

Oynx 235 = good quality product that is expensive like megabiker said. The menu system is very cumbersome until you get used to it and unfortunately the manual is poorly written which just ads to the confusion and create's SERIOUS frustration. Once you get it figured out it's a piece of cake.

Great Planes battery = expensive. Sure I couldn't interest you in one of the following...
      http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-25c-4000-3s1p.html -- 4000mAh not 3200 for $3 less.

      http://www.hobbypartz.com/77p-sl3300-3s1p-30c-3333.html -- 3300mAh for $28.36 - over $16 less and has a higher "C" rating to boot.

      http://www.hobbypartz.com/77p-sl4000-3s1p-30c-3333.html -- 4000mAh, has a higher "C" rating and it's bout $9 less than Great Planes.

      http://www.hobbypartz.com/77p-sl4400-3s1p-30c-3333.html -- 4400mAh, has a higher "C" rating and it's bout $8 less than Great Planes.

The reason Onyx chargers and Great Planes batts cost more is because Great Planes and Horizon Hobbies use something called "MAP" pricing (all vendors have to sell at the same exorbitant price) - HobbyPartz, HobbyKing, Kintec Racing, etc, do not. Goto TowerHobbies all prices for Great Planes products will be exactly the same as RC Planet.

That's why everybody keeps trying to steer you away from RC-Planet, Onyx chargers, Great Planes batts, so on, so on.

Hey lenny, check this out... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=SM&I=LXBXEP** -- use coupon code 010K5 for $30 off, free ship (ends tonite) and get $25 rebate from AQ (merchandise - IE: batteires) for a final price of $194.99

For a fricking Revolt - are you kidding me?? -- That's a steal-!! - I remember when they were $350 plus shipping and no rebate either.

Heck I just got a PB IM-31 for $249.99 delivered, the big brown truck came yesterday. Only thing wrong with 'er was the motor was cock-eyed and screws glued in (to both the hull & motor) like Bob_t's boat. BUT, flex cable is fine, all the electronics work good and no cracks in the hull or canopy either

I was up till 1:30 this morning getting everything cleaned up and ready for the maiden run. Denatured alcohol did a great job of breaking down what-ever kind of glue PB used on the motor & mount. I used break cleaner for the flex cable, teflon tube & strut. I'll use blue loctite on the motor & coupler screws when I re-assemble her.

Yes, this is a great time to be in the market for a new FE boat

@ J.W.Pepper, Congrats on getting the PB IM-31. However, I am puzzled as to how PB can allow that to happen on a "regular" basis, I am glad you can clean it up can correct that, but it shouldn't have happened, even by Chinese standards! I can understand that the motor mount is not aligned optimally but to have glue/gunk over it it just a big mystery to me. Don't mean to ramble but I just hate things happen that don't make senses.
Too many boats, not enough time...

Congrats on getting the PB IM-31... Thanks!!

I don't get it either, bad run maybe?? Pissed off factory workers?? Who knows...

I was so busy being happy that I didn't have all the issue's that Bob_T, RoadRashRacing & Manny had that it was very easy for me to over-look the glue issue. It was very time consuming but relatively easy to clean up as I pointed out, labor of love, so no biggie.

Last night I replaced the 3.5mm motor bullets with 4mm and added battery straps like these... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXSYN4&P=7 -- now I don't have to buy a couple yards of velcro (for the bottom of the batts) and / or use that lame a$$ lid thing.

              Ok, nuff rambling

That AC6 isn't much!!!! I have one and the LHS owner whose a whizz at electric items couldn't get the ac6 to get the charger to charge 3S lipos. Collecting dust. I have a Onxy for 2S and 3S and runs perfect. Now for the 4S, i have a Common Sense and is a GEM.

I got an Onyx 220 couple years ago when I all I had/used was NiMH batts, that thing has countless hours of continous use without any hiccups and still works perfect.

Needed more memory locations and ability to charge 2 packs at same time. Bout a year ago I got an Onyx 230 off fleabay for like $40, menu system works the same as the 220, so it was easy transition.

                  When I started using LiPo's three / four months ago I got one of these... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAEPR&P=7 -- total investment = $60 - $25 less than Onyx 235.

There's deals to be had if your willing to spend a little time looking for them.
