I've looked for plans for Sports hydros before & couldn't find any. You can either find a modern scale hull plan & just build a different cowling in the Sports hydro type of look.
Or buy either a Whiplash Sport 20 kit or an ML Boatworks GP310 kit. Believe me it's easier & possibly cheaper with a kit.

    All the best.

785boats, thank you for you reply. Yeah I kindda decided that going with one of the ML-boatworks kits is the way to go. I saw one of the builds and there's a lot of detailed parts that are better off laser cut than just cutting the whole thing by hand. So I figured as much...again thanks for the reply!

I built the Whiplash 20. It's a great boat. I race it in the P-Limited Sport Hydro class. It's fast and stable. You'll be happy if you build it.

90% finished a new Whip 20 for P-Limited this season, great boats easy kit to build.
Heard nothing but good news about the ML boatworks hydros, One of the guys I run with is finishing up one of those for this year, easy to build as well.
For me it came down to I liked the way the Whiplash looks more than Mikes sport hydros, just not sold on the curved sponson extension down the side of the hull.
Don't think you could go wrong with either. Both great performing boats when set up properly.
Not using the blazer cowling on mine, something different in the works, think 70's piston powered picklefork. Just want something different than all the modern turbine style cowlings on sport hydros.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I race a 33" version of the Whiplash in our EA 4s class & it's my favorite boat. I didn't build it but I've seen a few built in our club. I am building a ML Boatworks GP400 for our EB 6s class. Great kits to build.

            Siberianhusky.
Now that's strange. The curved sponson extensions are what sold me on the GP series. Plus the fact that the EB class is riddled with Whiplash & Aussie Hydros hulls. I just wanted something different.
I like your idea for a different type of cowl. Good move.
